As the EatWellDC family of restaurants have evolved, we have learned to embrace local, organic and sustainable. We have endeavored to seek out and establish relationships with quality local growers. This has been a difficult challenge and though there are many growers in Maryland and Virginia complications persist. Transportation being a principal challenge but also many growers have limited availability. We have decided to take a different road and have been searching for a farm of our own.

We are presently working on a plan to acquire a small farm, 13 acres, in La Plata, MD, just 30 miles south of DC. This will be an experiment for us in organic farming, sustainability and truly a farm to table operation. We intend, in stages, to grow our own vegetables, eventually providing the bulk of our growing season needs.
